USLNG Exports Jump

Record USLNG Output Jump Lifts Exports in Weak Market (Reuters)
Ekaterina Kravtsova and Scott DiSavino (July 29): A sharp increase in USLNG output in the past year has protected the country’s status as the world’s third largest exporter, despite multiple cargo cancellations this summer… The U.S. exported 26.5 million tons of LNG in January to July this year, a 41% jump on the year earlier period, Refinitiv Eikon data showed. Xi Nan at Rystad Energy, said he still expects the United States to produce 55 mtpa of LNG in 2020, a 53% increase from 2019. The summer dip has impacted U.S. deliveries to Latin America, but exports to Asia in June and July were 67% above last year’s level and supply to Europe fell by just one cargo. The dip in U.S. exports is expected to continue next month, with July and August cancellations yet to be reflected in deliveries. Link to Content
