FERC Order to New Fortress

New Fortress: FERC Seeks Answers on LNG Terminal Built in Puerto Rico Without Approval (NGI)
Jamison Cocklin (June 19): FERC has ordered New Fortress Energy to explain why it built and brought online a LNG import terminal in San Juan, Puerto Rico, without FERC approval. The facility was commissioned in April and will supply LNG to industrial users and microgrids via trucks. It also feeds a nearby gas-fired powerplant owned by the PREPA. But in a “show cause” order issued Thurs. (June 18), FERC said the facility is subject to its approval under the Natural Gas Act. NFE has 30 days to explain why it didn’t seek federal approval for the facility. Link to Content
