Also on Sept. 10, Carib Energy (Crowley Maritime) was granted a 20-year export license from DOE to provide LNG to non-FTA countries in the Caribbean, Central and South America.
The licensing permits Crowley to export 0.04 billion cubic feet per day of LNG via 700 gallon tanks to non-FTA countries. In addition to supplying non-FTA countries, Crowley will also continue to supply FTA countries.
Crowley has a multi-year contract with Coca-Cola Bottlers of Puerto Rico to provide LNG to two of the manufacturer’s plants in Cayey and Cidra. Carib Energy is also in negotiations with several other potential industrial customers that will soon convert to LNG.
