YS: Tokyo Gas and Kyushu Electric to Share LNG

Tokyo Gas, Kyushu Electric to Share LNG (Yomiuri Shimbun)
News reports from Japan (Apr. 12) state that Tokyo Gas and Kyushu Electric believe that they “can procure LNG more efficiently if they provide one another with their surplus LNG.” Tokyo Gas uses LNG to produce town gas (winter) while Kyushu Electric uses it as a fuel to generate electricity (summer). Previously, Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. (TEPCO) and Chubu Electric Power Co. fully integrated their thermal power generation businesses.
